About this talk

CodeYourFuture is a non-profit coding school for disadvantaged people - this can include refugees, asylum seekers, ex-offenders, those living below the poverty line and others. We teach people to code, support their personal development and help them find jobs in tech. Hear inspirational stories and see presentations from our students who have overcome adversity and are now on their way to becoming full stack developers.

Also - find out what our plans are for the local tech community, how you can get involved and ask questions to our amazing students and volunteers.

Claire Bickley

Claire is the Regional Manager for CodeYourFuture in the West Midlands. She has a background in Audio Technology, having worked for some years in local radio production. She moved to supporting volunteers when she managed a volunteer-led studio that made audio recordings for blind and partially sighted people. Claire is passionate about the local community and her strong desire to help others brought her to CodeYourFuture in late 2019. The more remarkable and interesting people are the students and volunteers you will hear from who make the CYF family what it is. Find out more about CodeYourFuture at
